Under the Scheme of R&D, the Dept. has been supporting financial assistance to the Scholars/Scientists/Doctors of institutions like National Institute of Technology(NIT), Langol, Manipur Institute of Technology, Takyelpat, RIMS, Lamphelpat, JNIMS, Porompat, Imphal, Central Agriculture University(CAU), Iroisemba, NIELIT, Akampat, Colleges, etc. towards taking up Short-Term Research Projects on local relevance.

INTRODUCTION:
Science and Technology play a vital role in the development strategy of various sections of the society. The Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Manipur, provides financial support to motivate Scientific and Technical experts to take up Shortterm R&D Projects, preferably of applied nature, with inputs of Science and Technology to
contribute to the socio-economic development of the people of Manipur.
